Pedagogy

I am an experienced teacher, specialising in teaching writing for drama and philosophies of performance. I have been teaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in various capacities since 2014, and have also worked at the Wimbledon College of Arts and Mountview Academy. Some of the things that I’ve taught include writing for film and theatre, performance and urban life, colonialism, race and performance, and practice research. I’ve written and presented lectures, run seminars, supervised practice and research projects, and given extensive feedback for countless students (probably around the 3000 mark if I wanted to count.)

Have I taught you? Was I okay? Want to do something awesome? If your responses to at least two of these three questions are yes, could you leave me a review in this little box thing here? I’ll upload a few on this page, just so that I can sound cool. Give me the best and the worst – it’ll go directly on this page. Please don’t leave your name though – that’ll be very awkward…

Below, you can read an unedited collection of the anonymous comments I’ve received through this page – completely unedited.

Farokh is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. The way he explains things, even the most complex theories, makes it accessible and memorable. The exercises he runs in his writing classes always inspire creativity and as a one-to-one tutor he is insightful and a great help to develop your own unique style. Thanks for everything Farokh!
